Truman High School to Host Vendor Fair March 12

Truman High School will be hosting a Vendor Fair on Sat., March 12, 2011 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the gymnasium to support Project graduation. 

The goal of Project Graduation is to reduce the chance of students being injured or killed in alcohol-related car accidents by providing them with an all night chaperoned party on graduation night. There will be over 35 vendors at this fair. Items from various vendors will be raffled off after the event. Please plan to attend.

KC Chiefs Team Up with Independence School District Holiday Helpers

The Kansas City Chiefs have joined in partnership with the Independence School Districts Holiday Helpers. With the success of previous game ticket sales they have added two additional games to the season! The game for October 24th is SOLD OUT, but October 31st and November 21st games will soon be available to purchase! Tickets are $27 with $10 of the total going towards Holiday Helpers. Keep an eye on the Holiday Helpers website for when the tickets will go on sale!

Independence Teacher Selected for Fellowship with U.S. Department of Education

She filled out the application to participate in the U.S. Department Fellowship Program thinking there was a good chance she may not be selected. But when Stephanie Merriott learned she was one of 15 that were chosen, she was pleasantly surprised. Read more...
