KC Artists Easter Craft Fair

Come spend a fun day at the KC Artists Easter Craft Fair! There will be more than 40 local artists from the Kansas City Metro at the show.

The Easter Craft Fair will be Saturday, April 23rd at the Rodger T. Sermon Center Gymnasium located at the corner of Truman and Noland Roads in Independence. The show will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be concessions available and awesome door prizes!

Shrek the Musical is coming to Kansas City!

Everyone's favorite ogre is coming to Kansas City. That's right, Shrek the Musical, based on the popular DreamWorks film, will run January 12-16 at the Music Hall.

With 19 catchy songs and plenty of side-splitting humor, this show is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Tickets are available at the Municipal Box or through Ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.

Trunk or Treat Vs. Door to Door for Goodies!

Looking for a safe, fun environment to have your kids participate in Halloween or Fall activities? There are many more options than you think when it comes to the age old tradition of knocking on neighborhood doors. Many business’s and local Church’s now offer a safe place to bring your kids to stock up on the goodies! Some offer Trunk or Treating, decorating the trunks of their cars with prizes and candy in their parking lots.

Kids Movie Night and Martial Arts Kick-a-thon Held Oct. 15

October 15 is a day of fun and giving at Dragon Family Martial Arts Center. As a treat to parents and kids, Movie Night aka Parent’s Night Out is open to the public. On Friday, Oct. 15 parents drop their kids off for a night of food, fun and martial arts. And the parents get to enjoy a night on the town or a cozy couch in silence. KC Chiefs Team Up with Independence School District Holiday Helpers

The Kansas City Chiefs have joined in partnership with the Independence School Districts Holiday Helpers. With the success of previous game ticket sales they have added two additional games to the season! The game for October 24th is SOLD OUT, but October 31st and November 21st games will soon be available to purchase! Tickets are $27 with $10 of the total going towards Holiday Helpers. Keep an eye on the Holiday Helpers website for when the tickets will go on sale!

Truman Trolley Rides $1 Through October 2!

If your looking for a fun, unique, inexpensive outing this weekend for your family, look no further than the Independence Square. The Truman Trolley runs daily through October 2nd.

The trolley takes you to historical spots throughout the community. Some of the stops include The National Frontier Trails Museum, Chicago & Alton Depot, Bingham-Waggoner Estate, all the Truman sites, the Vaile Mansion and the Mormon Heritage Sites.

You can catch the trolley at Clinton's Soda Fountain at Maple and Main Streets. Hours are from 10:30am-5:30pm Monday through Saturday. Admission is only $1 for adults which includes unlimited boarding and children ages five and under are free!
